Kilauea Volcano overtakes Puna Geothermal Plant, more evacuations underway
The Kilauea Volcano continues to erupt with no end in sight. The growing body of molten lava spewing forth is now overtaking the Puna Geothermal Plant which is a major concern for everyone. The plant uses a flammable gas called pentane in part of it’s production process which, if it comes into contact with or in close proximity to the lava flow could cause a potentially deadly explosion. The company has removed over 50,000 gallons of pentane from the sight and capped it’s wells which, according to FEMA should be precaution enough to prevent any explosions, however, there continues to be widespread concern among local residents. Meanwhile, there are ever widening evacuations ahead of the lava flow which shows no sign of slowing down.
Effects of Radiation from Fukushima on Fish
It has been nearly 7 years since a 9.0 earthquake struck off the coast of the NE corner of Japan and caused a tsunami that led to the failure of the containment walls at the Fukushima nuclear power plant. The Japanese government has shut down several fisheries and put into place other safeguards to protect it’s citizens from eating radioactive fish, but there is little that can be done to stop the long reaching, devastating effects on the ocean and the various lifeforms contained within it.
Lethal levels of radiation have been detected at Japan’s Fukushima nuclear power plant, seven years after it was destroyed by an earthquake and tsunami.
Experts told Japanese state broadcaster NHK World that the leaks could lead to a “global” catastrophe if not tackled properly. This announcement came as Tepco, the company responsible for the Fukushima plant said that contaminated water around the plant’s three reactors is seeping into the ground, causing major difficulties in the decommissioning process. Tepco has also admitted that it might be as late as 2020 before the contamination issues is resolve so that they can move on to the second stage which is removing nuclear debris from the site, including the damaged reactors. For those of you with Johrei, this would be the place to use it.
The Rohingya and the upcoming monsoon season
In what is now being labeled as “the fastest growing refugee crisis in the world”, estimates as high as 800,00 Rohingya muslims have fled Myanmar to escape what the UN has called “textbook ethnic cleansing” and are now living in ever growing makeshift refugee camps along the border of Bangaladesh. Humanitarian organizations which are doing all they can to provide food, clothing, medicine and latrines to the Rohingya are now facing another crisis – the rapidly approaching monsoon season. Unless other provisions can be made, untold numbers of the Rohingya will be subject to flooding and mudslides.
The Good Guys
Yes, there are crises everywhere we look such that it is easy to feel overwhelmed by the suffering. But at the same time there are many, many people and organizations stepping up to provide help in specific crisis situations as well as to the ecological crises across the planet. You won’t hear much about these Good Guys on the news, but they also need our energetic support since they are working in the name of all of us who hold Compassion. When we offer Reiki and Johrei to the Good Guys we leverage our abilities and we help move the planet closer to a point of positive critical mass.
We will regularly highlight some of the Good Guys here so we can quickly and easily offer them energetic backup.

Tea Farmer in India leads the charge for organics
In the biggest tea-growing region in India, the hazards alone range from red spider mites to herds of wild elephants. Grower Tenzing Bodosa, a native of Assam, fights the former and unusually invites the latter. Tenzing’s small 13-hectare (about 32 acres) tea estate sits in the folds of the Himalayas, and borders the mountain kingdom of Bhutan to the north. Tenzing transitioned to organic farming after an incident with pesticides on his own farm convinced him he needed to change. In addition to the transition to all organic farming, Tenzing dedicated 74 acres of his estate as a wildlife preserve and spends much of his time teaching and encouraging other tea farmers how to switch to organic farming.
Tenzing talks with tea farmers from his large farming district on how to successfully run organic tea farms. He also discusses how best to survive in the market, where big tea growers with much cheaper rates can be more competitive.Tenzig Bodosa on his tea plantation
